Pirates acquire minor-leaguer Jeff Larish

After tonight's game it was announced that the Pirates acquired corner infielder Jeff Larish from the Red Sox for cash considerations. He will be sent to AAA-Indianapolis, and we probably won't see him in the majors this season. Larish has spent three seasons in the majors with both the Tigers and Athletics, producing a line of .224/.308/.380 in 276 plate appearances.

One could only assume that this move could be followed by a Jake Fox call-up to Pittsburgh, given the way the offense has been playing as of late (all season). In 17 games for the Indians this season, Fox is hitting .327 with 11 RBIs.
