The Pirates and the Reds square off for the rubber match tonight at PNC Park. The Pirates are looking to get back to .500, while the Reds are looking to extend their division lead. The Pirates are also hoping to have a better showing than last night, where they lost 8-1 to break their 4 game winning streak.
On the hill for the Bucs is A.J. Burnett, who has been hit-or-miss so far this season. Two starts removed from being the National League's most
efficient hurler, Burnett needed 105 pitches in 5 1/3 innings of his most
recent start but still gutted out a victory over the Cubs.
His opponent will be Reds ace Johnny Cueto. Cueto has given up more than three earned runs in a start
twice, but it's happened in two of his past three starts. He gave up five over
4 2/3 innings in a loss Friday. Cueto said his breaking ball was lacking and
opened up too much in his delivery.
