A Shitty Night All in All, BUCS LOSE

Dodgers beat Pirates 4-1

WP: Chad Billingsley (1-0)
LP: Erik Bedard (0-2)
S: Javy Guerra (4)

Some thoughts on the game after the jump...

  •  The lack of hitting by this team scares me.  If it wasn't for the pitching, we could still be looking for our first win.
  • Clint Barmes got his first hit of the season, a solo home run that gave the Bucs the lead in the 3rd.
  • Neil Walker is 1-17 (.059) at the plate this season.  Last year after 5 games, he was 7-21 (.333).
  • It was nice seeing Nate McLouth start again in a Pirates uniform.  Wouldn't that be nice if he regained his All-Star form.
  • Dodgers' 5-1 record so far is the best start they've had since 1999.
  • Matt Kemp's streak of RBI in consecutive games was snapped at nine.
  • Clayton Kershaw was presented with his Cy Young Award on the field before the game.  Hopefully we'll see Gerrit Cole or Jameson Tallion posing with this award in the future.

Three Stars
3) Matt Guerrier (Scoreless top of 7th)/ Clint Barmes (1-3, HR)
2) Chad Billingsley (6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 4 K)
1) Juan Rivera (3-4, 2 RBI)
