The Pirates are looking to bounce back from a loss yesterday to Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers, where he pitched seven innings, only allowing one run off of four hits.  The Dodgers took the lead for good in that game with a 8th inning solo home run from outfielder Andre Either, who was celebrating his 30th birthday that day.

Chad Billingsley gets his second start of the season tonight, looking to build off of his eight-inning outing last Friday.  He allowed no runs and won his first game of the season.  Billingsley is 5-1 against the Pirates in his career.

Erik Bedard takes the ball for the second time in a Pirate uniform.  He pitched a strong game against the Phillies on the home opener (7.0 IP, 6 H, 1 ER), but was out-dueled by ace Roy Halladay, resulting in his first loss of the season.  Bedard has only pitched once against LA, allowing one run in five innings pitched.

Know the Enemy- True Blue LA
Their recap from last game:
"Andre Ethier is a little bit older and a little bit wiser these days, and as the right fielder turned 30 on Tuesday, there was a peace about him. Then again, it's easy to be all smiles when the team is winning, as the Dodger are. The Dodgers beat the Pirates 2-1 on Tuesday to improve to 4-1, and Ethier's solo home run in the eighth inning proved to be the game winner."

  • Pedro's back in the lineup against the right-hander Billingsley
  • Clint Barmes is 0-12 at the plate this season.  Not good, needs a hit.
  • 90% chance of rain according to True Blue LA, so this game could get rained out.
  • Pirates need to respond with a win today.  Hopefully Pittsburgh teams go 2-0 today.
Lets Go Bucs.
